New Zealand played Australia in the semifinal on Wednesday night running in four tries including a double from Hurricane and Hawke’s Bay winger Zac Guildford.

New Zealand’s road to the final also included wins over Uruguay, Ireland and Argentina in pool play.

New Zealand Under 20 captain Aaron Cruden said the team was excited about the final and the challenge ahead.

“It’s a Junior World Championship final and we all know we will have to play well to win, but the boys are focused and ready to do their country proud,” said Cruden.

New Zealand Under 20 coach Dave Rennie said he was delighted the team was in the final.

“The English team has some very big boys in it and have played over a dozen games this year. It is going to be a big challenge but our team has grown as group over the past few weeks and are looking forward to the occasion,” said Rennie.

SKY TV will be broadcasting the final live on the Rugby Channel from 5.50pm and TVNZ’s TV One will be broadcasting delayed coverage at 10.00pm on Sunday.
