Four new caps for NZ Maori

Southland fullback/first five-eighths Robbie Robinson, Wellington lock Daniel Ramsay, Chiefs centre Jackson Willison and Crusaders wing Sean Maitland have been included in the side.

Five other newcomers have been named on the bench.

Coach Jamie Joseph said the match would be a great first game for his side which will play internationals against Ireland and England later in the month.

"The Barbarians have named a strong squad with a big forward pack and we know this will be a physical game that will provide us with a good challenge," Joseph said.

"We have begun our preparations well and everyone is looking forward to getting this tour off to a good start."
