New Zealand beat Spain in opening match of Glasgow Sevens

Glasgow debuts as the new Scottish leg this season, with the event being held for the last five years at Edinburgh, and with this the penultimate leg of the season's competition, we shall know the 13th winner in the next two weeks.

The final leg is in London next weekend.

Salesi Piutau scored a double, while Ardie Savea, captain DJ Forbes and Tim Mikkelson also crossed for New Zealand.

Cesar Sempere notched a cheeky try for Spain, which led to huge celebrations for the team.

New Zealand play France and Samoa to round out pool play.

Gordon Tietjens troops lead the overall series with 128 competition points, with Fiji close behind on 122.

South Africa (105), England (104), Samoa (101) and Australia (84) lead the chasing pack.
