Hurricanes looking at bumper crowd

This is a record for the Hurricanes this season, with the Crusaders match in Wellington not even clocking up 20,000 before the gates opened.

With just over 24 hours to go, and the team’s final training run complete it appears Hurricanes fans are excited about the big clash which could give the Hurricanes a chance of making the top six. The Hurricanes need a bonus point win and other results to go their way but that is not stopping fans making sure the Chiefs know they are entering black and yellow territory tomorrow night.

Organisers are urging people to pre-book their tickets by either visiting a Ticketek outlet or booking online and printing their tickets at home or work.

Fans can visit Ticketek online at or phone 0800 842 538. Adults are from $25 and children from $10 – note booking fees apply.

Alternatively, tickets will be available for purchase from the Ticketek sellers at the Westpac Stadium gates from 4.30pm tomorrow. To avoid the queues and make sure you don’t miss any of the action get there early to buy your tickets.

The Hurricanes had their biggest crowd since 2008 this year when they played the Crusaders at Westpac Stadium in April, with over 22,000 in attendance.

Chris Eaton and Cory Jane, who were both bracketed on Wednesday’s team announcement, have been cleared to play. Eaton and Jane will run on in the starting 15 for the Hurricanes tomorrow night.

Kick off for the match is at 7.35pm and the gates open at 6pm.
