Roberts was a notable absence in the Grand Slammers recent 0-3 series defeat against the Wallabies, and will make the first steps to his rugby comeback in South Africa.

The exhibition match against the Cheetahs has been organised to commemorate the 200th birthday of Sir George Grey, founder of renowned South African institution Grey College.

Roberts is one of seven international players who have been selected for Cardiff, while South African-born loose forward Andries Pretorius will tour, with the young flanker reportedly being lined up to make his Welsh debut in the future.

Cardiff Blues Director of Rugby Phil Davies was excited about the historic match.

"We are all looking forward to the trip and feel very humbled and honoured to be part of such a prestigious occasion," he said.
