"The well wishes the Chiefs team received ahead of the final from all corners of the world was overwhelming" said Chiefs' co-captain Craig Clarke.

"We would just like to thank everyone for their support and those who attended the game last night it was bloody brilliant."

The Hamilton-based team, who defeated the Sharks in Saturday night's final at Waikato Stadium, will parade down Hamilton's Victoria Street, from 12.30pm on the 6 August.

The parade will start at Knox Street, and culminate in Garden Place, with an official city congratulations to the team. The parade down Victoria Street will be under the control of rolling police road closure.
