The team have spent the last two days in camp and travel to ECOLight Stadium this evening to play the All Blacks and the Counties-Manukau Steelers in their first pre-season match.

Pivac said excluding a few injuries the team that runs out tonight will be full strength.

“We were asked to put out a strong team against the All Blacks. All the players are really excited because it’s something a bit different in terms of opening the season.”

Daniel Braid will lead the side and all 26 players are expected to get game time.

13 players in the run on team have Super Rugby experience.

“This is an opportunity for the players to stake their claim for a place in the final squad,” said Pivac, with a squad of 26 to be announced early next week.
