Carter has resisted joining fellow All Blacks Piri Weepu, Cory Jane, Ma'a Nonu, Israel Dagg and others, but the world record test and Super Rugby point's scorer has gone live into the big bad world of social media, and held a 'worldwide' Twitter press conference and answered a host of questions.

His goal is to reach a hundred test matches for the All Blacks - the unticked box - while he says that his captain Richie McCaw is his inspiration due to the fact that he puts his body on the line.

For those who wonder how efficient Carter is with his training, he says that his 'old' max bench press was 140kg, while his time over 3km is 10 minutes, 21 seconds.

He also said that English first five-eighth Jonny Wilkinson in his prime was the toughest player he ever played against, while his test debut and match against the British and Irish Lions in the second test remain his most memorable matches.

As for Carter's advice to become an All Black and top first five?

"Training, Training, Training."
