The two backs designed two eye catching jerseys with adidas, with Carter opting for a more traditional blue, white and red creation, while Dagg decided to up the ante and put a generous splashing of pink on his garb.

The All Blacks then put the jersey on for their training session in Wellington today, although it wasn’t just a simple case of grabbing the colours which appealed the most.

All Blacks captain Richie McCaw made it quite clear, with a smile on his face but a serious glint in his eye, that the World Champion’s forwards were not to put on jerseys that had Dagg’s unique design.

McCaw’s back row partners in Liam Messam and Victor Vito reached for the pink jersey until a glare from their captain told them otherwise.

"He looked at me and Vic,” Messam said.

“(While) obviously pink looks good on the brown brothers, Richie sort of looked at us and we knew better.'

Dagg managed to convince his backline partners to wear the jersey, with local boys Cory Jane and Julian Savea among those wearing the brighter creations.

The All Blacks fullback thought more of the team would wear his jersey.

“Obviously the skipper had a word and said 'the forwards aren't wearing that' but most of the backline wore it except for Richie and his brutal machines,” Dagg said.
