Ranfurly Shield arrives in Hamilton

Not only were the cow bells ringing at the stadium, but dozens crammed into the changing rooms as the impromptu anthem "Mooloo. Ole! Ole! Ole!" rang out to the point that more than one Waikato supporter was barely croaking out the words towards the end.
Waikato captain Alex Bradley said the side was overwhelmed by the support, while former Waikato players like Deon Muir were on hand, as the crowd slowly grew as word spread that the new Ranfurly Shield holders were in town.
It completes what is a rare trifecta, with the region now claiming the Investec Super Rugby Championship and the Shield, while the Magic are also still the toast of the town.
Waikato will play Counties-Manukau next in the ITM Cup, before playing their solitary defence of the season against Hawke's Bay, which if successfully negotiated, will see the Log o'Wood remain in Hamilton over the summer.
