The All Blacks squad for the Air New Zealand European Tour will be announced in Christchurch next Monday (see details below), before the players fly into eight different provinces on Tuesday 30 October, to say thank you to their fans for their support this year.
Air New Zealand is flying the All Blacks into the provinces for visits to Kerikeri, Whakatane, Taupo, Wanganui, Hastings, Blenheim, Leeston, and Mosgiel.
All Blacks captain Richie McCaw said that while many fans were able to see the All Blacks in the cities where Test matches were played, the team also knew they had a huge number of fans in smaller towns around the country and next Tuesday's flying visits were a way to acknowledge that.
"Our fans are hugely important to us and we thought this would be a really cool opportunity to say thank you to the many New Zealanders who get behind the team," he said.
Groups of three to four All Blacks will visit secondary schools in each town and a range of other community activities including rippa rugby, hospital visits, library reading sessions with children, an amazing race-style challenge, meet and greets, and coffee breaks with special local citizens.
