Davies said: "It's special. To be a part of that tonight is something I will never forget.
"The boys have come together over the last eight weeks and created a bit of history and to be part of it is very humbling."
After going in at the break 19-10 up, two quick penalties from Christian Leali'ifano set nerves jangling among the tourists.
But tries from Jonathan Sexton, George North and Jamie Roberts sealed the memorable victory.
And Davies made sure to credit the side's forwards after a dominant display in the scrum set them on the winning path.
He added: "In the last 10 minutes you could see the scoreboard and when Jamie (Roberts) went over and there was a bit of a lead we just had to make sure we kept our heads on and make sure we kept concentrating.
"We wanted to finish on a good note, not bring the game down, but to be fair, up front was fantastic tonight, the boys were extremely powerful and gave us a platform to play off."
