Comparing that situation with that in New Zealand, he said, "There's nothing like having your players playing in the home competition where you've got some access to them, some relationship with the people that are coaching them.
"The Northern Hemisphere coaches where they are all going to I would imagine don't really care too much about South African rugby, so that's an issue.
"The time zone is the same so that cuts that out. The travel could be an issue if they are travelling up there a lot so it will be interesting to see how many they do pick of them," he said.
