Influential flanker Pocock and full-back Folau were doubtful due to calf and ankle injuries which ruled them out of the dramatic quarter-final victory over Scotland last weekend, but will return against the Pumas.

Ben McCalman and Kurtley Beale drop to the bench to accommodate the return of Pocock and Folau.

Sio suffered an elbow injury against Vern Cotter's men and has not recovered in time for the last-four showdown at Twickenham, so Slipper comes in at prop with Toby Smith named among the replacements.

Slipper, whose terrible pass gifted Mark Bennett what looked to be a winning try for Scotland last weekend, will become the Wallabies' most-capped prop when he makes his 73rd appearance for his country.

Australia coach Michael Cheika said: "James has been pushing for a starting spot with his performances as a finisher and I know he’ll take it with both hands.

"James is a leader in our squad and has performed well through this tournament so far and in the lead-up matches.

"This weekend is a great opportunity for the lads to improve on last week and take advantage of the chance to play on such a big stage.

"This weekend we want to make Australia proud of their team."
