With his considerable athleticism and physicality, Auckland midfielder Moala creates openings for those around him, making him a desirable squad member, and he can also make the most of opportunities for himself.

Moala burst onto the rugby scene for Auckland's Tamaki College before making the Auckland Under 20 squad in 2010.  The following year he was in the Auckland ITM Cup side, and was named in the Blues for the 2012 season. At the end of 2015 he had 45 ITM Cup matches to his credit as well as 40 Blues matches.

He is versatile - he can cover wing and midfield - and has a sound rugby brain. He is an explosive runner and dangerous with ball in hand with power that makes him difficult for defenders to stop.

Moala made his All Blacks debut in 2015 against Samoa, starting on the right wing. He was impressive in his first outing in the black jersey, securing a try in the 25-16 win and is likely to have the selectors looking at him again in 2016.

During the ITM Cup, Moala was in great form and topped the individual tryscorers' ledger with his 10 during the season as Auckland made the Final.
