QUICK TAP: FOUR BLACK FERNS IN THE 2016 NEW ZEALAND FORM XV

World Rugby have confirmed the schedule for pool play with the Black Ferns kicking off their campaign against Wales on Thursday 10 August (NZT) before facing Hong Kong on Sunday 13 August and Canada on Thursday 17 August. The Black Ferns need to qualify first to confirm a spot in the semifinals but face an intriguing challenge from world number three ranked Canada, fast improving Wales and World Cup debutants Hong Kong.

Japan claimed the final place in Pool C alongside Australia, France and Ireland while England headline Pool B with Italy, Spain and USA.

World Rugby Chairman Bill Beaumont said: "The Women's Rugby World Cup is going from strength to strength. The 2014 tournament in France was seen as a huge success as was the 2010 version in England. As women's rugby is currently one of the world's fastest growing team sports, we have no doubt that the 2017 event in Ireland will continue that upward trend and inspire the next generation of future stars.”
