Wellington ready to celebrate with the Black Ferns

The free public event commences at 12pm and the six attending Black Ferns will spend time with supporters until 1.30pm. 


The event will be hosted by Mayor of Wellington, Justin Lester, and supporters will be able to meet players, hear their stories, join in the entertainment and enjoy fun activities, including skills and drills and a drop kick competition.

The afternoon's celebrations will also include members of St Mary’s College First XV, who won the National First XV Top Four Final in September.

The Black Ferns are the most successful women's rugby team in history, having won the World Cup in 1998, 2002, 2006, 2010 and 2017.

• The Black Ferns Celebration will take place on 4 September 2017 at Civic Square, Wellington from 12pm–1.30pm

• Black Ferns will bring the Women's Rugby World Cup trophy
