With all six Premiership teams in contention for the playoffs, this weekend could be make or break time.

Reigning champions Counties Manukau sit at the top of the ladder but face a tricky assignment in Porirua against a Wellington Pride team that has showed a lot of determination in 2017.

The clash between Auckland and Manawatu is critical for both teams with just one point separating the teams on the ladder. The winner will be well-placed in the top four while the loser may have to rely on other results falling their way to have a chance of making the playoffs.

Canterbury are second on the ladder and have the chance to secure a playoff spot with victory over the Premiership’s bottom-placed side Waikato.

In the Championship division, all eyes will be on the clash between the top two sides – Bay of Plenty and Otago. The Volcanix sit eight points clear of Otago, but if the southerners get up then they are still a chance of claiming top spot in the Championship.

The final match-up sees Tasman taking on North Harbour for the first time. Tasman are winless in 2017 but a victory over the Hibiscus will see them still in contention for a Championship playoff spot.
