After impressing on day one, it was Portia Woodman and Michaela Blyde to the fore once again for the Black Ferns Sevens in the quarterfinal against Ireland.

The dynamic duo crossed for doubles to add to their impressive hauls on day one as New Zealand surged to a 31-0 victory.

The win setup a crunch semifinal with an impressive Canada side who had swept aside France 28-12 in their quarterfinal.

The Black Ferns Sevens were clinical in shutting down Canada’s attack and finding gaps out wide to secure a 26-0 win. Portia Woodman found herself on the score sheet once again to pick up her 13th try of the competition so far.

Olympic champions Australia were just as impressive on day two with big wins over Spain and Russia to secure their spot in the final.

The Black Ferns Sevens will take on Australia in the Sydney Sevens final at 4.37pm on Sunday. Watch live on SKY Sport channel 56.
