Junior All Blacks team named to play Tonga     15 Jun 2006

The match will be played at Yarrow Stadium in New Plymouth as part of a double header following the match between Manu Samoa and Japan.

The changes include two positional switches to the team that started against Manu Samoa last week.

Wyatt Crockett and Campbell Johnstone are the new props, Hoani MacDonald comes in at lock and Josh Blackie starts at openside flanker. In the backline, Sosene Anesi switches from left wing to right wing and Caleb Ralph moves from centre to left wing.

Junior All Blacks co-coach Ian Foster said the coaching staff was positive about the team’s performances so far in the competition.

“We are very pleased with how the team has performed. But at the same time, we are aware that Tonga is also playing strong rugby. They are unbeaten in this competition and last week they showed real determination in winning a tight encounter against Fiji,” Foster said.

Saturday’s double header in New Plymouth kicks off at 2.00pm when Manu Samoa takes on Japan. The Junior All Blacks v Tonga match kicks off at 4.30pm.

Both games will be televised live on Sky Sport 1 and the Rugby Channel.
