Meanwhile, Bay of Plenty’s Charles Baxter and Willie Rickards of Southland will join the New Zealand Sevens team tomorrow to replace the injured Ben Atiga and Nigel Hunt.
The pair returns to New Zealand later this week after suffering injuries during the IRB London Sevens tournament last weekend.
Atiga strained a hamstring on day one and aggravated the injury in the warm-up ahead of the quarterfinal against South Africa while Hunt injured his knee during the quarterfinal win.
Injury has also forced changes to the New Zealand Under 21 squad. Auckland halfback Brenton Helleur and Canterbury wing James Paterson have both been ruled out of the squad’s development camp next month and the international against Canada in Rotorua on 21 June.
Helleur and Paterson both have knee injuries. Helleur will be replaced by John Legg of Canterbury and Paterson will be replaced by Lance MacDonald of Bay of Plenty.
