Junior All Blacks team named for Tonga match     08 Jun 2007

The Junior All Blacks have beaten Samoa 31–10 and Fiji 57–8 so far and will again be looking for a strong performance against the Tongans in Nuku’alofa on Saturday. The match kicks off at 1.00pm (Tongan time) and will be televised live on Sky Sport 1 from 12.00pm (NZ time).

The Junior All Blacks lead the competition points table with 10 points, one ahead of Australia A.

Changes to the starting XV from the Fiji match include props Clarke Dermody and John Afoa coming into the front row and Tom Donnelly at lock, with Kieran Read and Marty Holah the new flankers.

In the backline, Jimmy Cowan and Stephen Brett start at halfback and first five-eighth, Sam Tuitupou is at second five-eighth and Scott Hamilton starts on the right wing.

Junior All Blacks Co-Coach Colin Cooper said the team would be looking to continue their winning form.

“It is important that we build on our good start to the competition and we will certainly look to continue that in Nuku’alofa. Saturday’s game will be our third on consecutive weekends and we are mindful that we need to manage our players, hence the changes,” Cooper said.
