Ofa Tu'ungafasi

A steady improver over three years of Investec Super Rugby, prop Ofa Tu'ungafasi has been in compelling form in 2016, where he has appeared in every game for the Blues heading into the Steinlager Series.

A defensive rock, who was invited into the All Blacks training camp in June 2015 after appearing as one of the Blues' standout players, Tu'ungafasi has also represented New Zealand at Under 17 and Under 20 grades and made the New Zealand Secondary Schools team for two seasons, playing alongside eventual All Blacks Lima Sopoaga and TJ Perenara. He made his first-class debut for Auckland in 2012 and now has 38 provincial caps to his credit.

Tu'ungafasi has beem studying social work outside of rugby, with a particular focus on young people.

His father Mofuike played for Tonga at the 1987 RWC and his younger brother Isi is also a talented rugby player, who joined Ofa in the Auckland squad for 2015.

In April 2015, he shaved off his trademark long dreadlocks to raise money for Starship Children's Hospital in Auckland.
