From a berth in the Black Ferns’ wider training squad in 2017 to a full contract in 2018, Joanah Ngan-Woo can reflect on an impressive last 12 months in rugby.
The Wellington Pride lock took up the game in Year 9 at St Catherine’s College, and by the age of 16 had linked up with the Oriental Rongotai club, from where she has played 34 times for the Pride since 2013. Ngan-Woo has struck up a useful second-row combination for the Pride with former Sanita Levave. In 2017 she played in all seven games for the Pride in the Farah Palmer Cup. In 2015 she appeared in the final against Auckland in Napier.
Away from rugby Ngan-Woo has completed a Bachelor of Arts in social policy and education at Victoria University.
