Rochelle Martin is one of the experienced players in the Black Ferns squad. She has been a consistent performer in the black jersey since making her international debut in 1994. Not only is she a strong runner with ball in hand and a solid defender, she also possesses strong leadership skills. In 2005 she took over as Auckland captain and led the team to yet another provincial title. She also captained the Black Ferns in the first Test against England in 2005. She has played club rugby in Italy and England and is also a former winner of New Zealand Women’s Player of the Year award in 1995.
