Nick Crosswell, who is linked to Ngati Porou, is a natural leader and a vital part of the Manawatu Turbos, having made his debut for them back in 2006. In 2014 he has been in great form, appearing in all the Turbos’ games in the lead-up to the Final.
Crosswell appeared in all three matches on the Maori All Blacks European Tour in 2012, the most recent of a series of national representative teams in which he has been involved, including New Zealand Schools, Under 19 and Under 21.
He made his Super Rugby debut for the Hurricanes in 2010, shifted to the Highlanders for 2011 and 2012 and was part of the Chiefs for 2013 and 2014.
