Ryan Crotty is a versatile player who can slot in at first or second five-eighth. All Blacks fans will long remember Ryan Crotty’s try in the final minutes of the 2013 Ireland Test, which kept the team’s perfect season intact.
The 2006 New Zealand Schools representative entered the national selection frame on the strength of outstanding performances for Canterbury Under 18 and at the New Zealand Under 19 trial camps.
He attended Shirley Boys' High, the same school as All Black and Canterbury stalwart Chris Jack, and is currently studying towards a degree in sports coaching at Canterbury University.
His mother represented New Zealand in waterpolo while his father has also played first class rugby in New Zealand.
