Matt Todd

A Crusader since 2011 – where he has established himself as a useful member of the red and blacks’ leadership group - Todd trained with the All Blacks during the 2011 Rugby World Cup and made his debut for the national side in the 2013 Steinlager Series against France. Despite not being selected for the All Blacks in 2014, Todd started at openside flanker in the historic All Blacks v Samoa match in Apia in 2015.

After missing out on Rugby World Cup 2015 selection, Todd proved to be among the top tier of loose forwards in the country during the 2016 Investec Super Rugby campaign for the Crusaders and earned a recall to the All Blacks during the 2016 Investec Rugby Championship.

With Richie McCaw retired, Matt Todd made the Crusaders number seven jersey his own in 2016 with his pilfering and defensive ability complemented by an improving running game.
