CHRIS EVES is considered a versatile prop who’s significant power and strength make him difficult to stop when he’s heading for the tryline.
Having first joined the squad in 2013, Eves is now one of the senior players in the Maori All Blacks environment. Originally from North Harbour, Eves made his provincial debut in 2008, before playing two seasons offshore in Portugal.
He returned to New Zealand as part of the Wellington Academy, before joining Manawatu as a loan player in 2013, where he became a vital part of the Turbos’ set up for that year. That proved to be the shot he needed as he made his Investec Super Rugby debut for the Hurricanes in 2014 and staying with them through to their Super Rugby title in 2016. In 2017 Eves was one of few players to play every match, and he continued to make an impact in 2018 before an eye injury kept him off the teamsheet for the Semifinal against the Crusaders.
