Kurt Baker

An absolute speedster and a classy fullback who combines fancy footwork with a strong tackle and reliable defence, Kurt Baker was part of the Rugby World Cup Sevens 2013-winning All Blacks Sevens team and was a key part of the Maori All Blacks campaigns in Europe in 2012, North America in 2013 and Japan in 2014.

Baker – who identifies himself as Ngapuhi – has added the Maori All Blacks jersey to his collection of black jerseys, which includes those from the New Zealand Under 20 Junior World Championship-winning campaign in 2008 as well as those from several seasons with the All Blacks Sevens. He won a Commonwealth Games gold medal in Delhi in 2010 and earned the Richard Crawshaw Memorial Sevens Player of the Year Award at the 2013 Steinlager Rugby Awards.

He was a member of the Taranaki side that won the 2014 ITM Cup Premiership and played for the Highlanders in 2015.
