A product of New Zealand rugby’s school’s programme, his talent was spotted early. He played for New Zealand Secondary Schools in 2012 and was elevated to the All Blacks Sevens in 2013 alongside his good friend from Hawke’s Bay Gillies, Kaka. He slotted in well, making his debut in the pressure cooker environment of the Hong Kong Sevens and ending with the series winning performance in Glasgow and Cup win at the London Sevens. A versatile back, 2013 has been huge for the 18 year old who also signed a two year contract with Hawke’s Bay.
