Kayla McAlister

The Mystics netball convert comes from great rugby stock, and like her brother former All Black Luke, Kayla McAlister has a mean step and pace that has seen her outwit many an opposition defence. Despite limited game time in the 2015/16, she still bagged 15 tries, the seventh highest try scorer. She only came to rugby following the Go4Gold recruitment campaign in 2012. She quickly excelled, being a key member of the team that won the inaugural World Series title and Rugby World Cup 2013 title, in a stellar season where she was also named the international Women’s Sevens Player of the Year. McAlister capped off 2016 with a silver medal at the Rio Olympics.
