Bay of Plenty sign Sevens stars

Bay of Plenty has signed New Zealand sevens players Zar Lawrence and Nigel Hunt for this year's Air NZ Cup competition.

Utility back Lawrence, 26, has played 21 matches for North Harbour while halfback Hunt, 24, has played for Wellington since 2004.

"We have had our eye on Nigel for the past couple of seasons after watching him score five tries against our development team while playing on the wing," Bay of Plenty coach Herb Schuler said today.

"As New Zealand sevens players Nigel and Zar bring an X-factor to our team that I am sure will excite our supporters."
