Chris Smylie made his New Zealand Maori debut in 2006 and was a member of the squad at the 2007 Churchill Cup tournament as well. A former Otago representative, Smylie has returned to North Harbour for the 2008 Air New Zealand Cup. He is a former recipient of the Air New Zealand NPC Division One Player of the Year at the 2005 Steinlager Rugby Awards.
