The women's sevens team will be looking to emulate the successes of their male counterparts when the IRB launches a world circuit for the women's game in 2013. Having won the Oceania Women's Sevens Championship in Fiji in 2012, the team has its eyes on the IRB Sevens World Cup in Moscow in June 2013, looking to avenge its defeat in the Final against Australia at the last World Cup in Dubai in 2007. With sevens now part of the Olympics there has been a surge in interest from women from all sporting codes, keen to help New Zealand rugby win gold at Rio de Janeiro in 2016.
