Who to choose -
Savea or Gear?

Rugby has transitioned slightly away from wingers needing to be pseudo-custodians, and the feats of Savea this season have him in the running for another All Blacks start.
His first was easy, scoring three tries against Ireland in a dream debut that had many comparing the Hurricanes wing to Jonah Lomu, and not for the first time.
However a tougher test awaited in Christchurch, and Savea wasn't able to showcase his skills against a fired up Ireland, and a mixed performance led to the 21-year-old being left out for the third test of the Steinlager Series.
The All Blacks selectors, preaching Savea keep his work-rate high, keep his defence sharp and his error rate under the high ball low, have selected the young prodigy in the squad for The Investec Rugby Championship.
Alongside him is Hosea Gear, who finished the Investec Super Rugby season with the most running metres of any player, again proving his capabilities with ball in hand.
Once again the sight of a big man flying down the All Blacks wing will be in play during The Investec Rugby Championship, but whether it is player for the future Savea, or tried and true Gear, remains to be seen.
