Williams played the last (for now...) of his test matches for the All Blacks in the World Champions 22-0 win over the Wallabies, and will now prepare for the Japanese Top League season, which begins this weekend.

The Wild Knights (formerly sponsored by Sanyo) won the title in 2007/2008, going undefeated, but in recent seasons they have had to watch Suntory claim glory - with Eddie Jones' former side winning the title 47-28 over the Wild Knights in the Grand Final last year.

Williams will be based on Ota, one hour's drive outside of Tokyo, and told ONE Sport he was looking forward to the next three months.

"I just want to experience the culture, and get to understand it and embrace it," said Williams.

"All the boys have so far been welcoming.

"It will take me a while to break the language barrier, but hopefully in the next month or two, I can do that."

The Wild Knights play the Ricoh Black Rams, Ma'a Nonu's old team earlier this season, to kick off their season.

Williams joins former Wallaby Sam Norton-Knight, while All Blacks scrum coach Mike Cron has spent time consulting with the team in the past.
