Waikato has Canterbury, Auckland and Wellington nipping on their heels, with defending champions Auckland the only remaining unbeaten side at the conclusion of the first month.

The closest match of Week Three was between Waikato and Wellington, with the 24-20 result notable for the fact that the ladies from the capital scored four tries but were unable to add a single point from the boot.

Canterbury outlined their credentials with a 69-0 win over Hawke's Bay, while Auckland won 57-15 over Manawatu.

Otago, who took a bye in Week Three, will host Hawke's Bay this weekend, with the last match between the two sides a nailbiter in Dunedin, with the Bay sneaking a 13-12 win.

Manawatu host rampant Canterbury, looking for just their second win over the red and blacks, while Auckland will play Wellington in a rematch of last year's final.
