Thrush came off the field awkwardly and there were fears that he had broken his left ankle, something that would have likely ruled the lineout leader out for the season, but it has been cleared and this morning the lock was in far less discomfort than he was over the weekend.

It was feared that Coles had broken his thumb, but like his tight five partner has been cleared of the injury.

While both will be monitored throughout the week, at this stage they will be able to mount a case to play next weekend.

The Hurricanes, with three straight wins, take on the Waratahs.

NSW has won four of their last five matches against the Hurricanes, and while Mark Hammett’s troops might have won in Sydney last year, the Hurricanes have lost the last two to the Waratahs at home.
