Over the course of the season, at global destinations in Australia, Dubai, South Africa, New Zealand, USA, Hong Kong, Japan, Scotland and England, fans will be challenged to upload their favourite image of themselves and their friends enjoying the Sevens to win a VIP trip for four to a tournament of their choice the following season.
During the 2013 Emirates Airline Glasgow Sevens this weekend, fans are being encouraged to upload photos of themselves via Instagram, Twitter or Facebook, with Sevens trips up for grabs to the best entrants.
By using the hash tag #SevensFan, fans will automatically enter themselves into the Glasgow round of the competition.
Throughout the 2012/13 Series, HSBC ambassadors, including former Wallaby captain George Gregan, will select a winning fan image from each tournament as the Series and competition builds up to its conclusion in May.
The nine tournament winners will then go into the #SevensFan final with the winning fan’s image decided by an HSBC ambassador after the ninth round of the Series in London.
“The popularity of Sevens continues to grow with fans of all ages and nationalities enjoying the action on and off the pitch across the world," said Andrea de Vincentiis, HSBC Head of Rugby Sponsorship.
"As the Series has grown and become more and more internationally connected it’s a chance to launch this new campaign aimed at further helping connect fans across the world.
“We are hoping to find the number one fan of the HSBC Sevens World Series but in so doing bring the tournaments and their fans closer together and further promote the Series element of the circuit.”
