The rivalry between the two nations has reached a level where it has become something of an unofficial World Championship every time the two nations meet, with the Black Ferns defeating England in the last three Women’s Rugby World Cup Finals.

The Black Ferns may hold the World Crown, but England have had recent dominance in the head to head meetings, sweeping the three Test series on English soil last year, winning 16-13, 18-7 and 32-23 – their second straight series success over New Zealand, albeit on away soil.
