Otago, still undefeated in what is turning out to be a dream season for the Women from the Deep South, won 29-23 against defending champions Auckland at Western Springs Stadium to make a compelling statement.

Canterbury, second on the log, were pushed all the way at Rugby Park in Christchurch, while the Steelers defeated a willing Manawatu 21-18 at Papakura.
