Anscombe snapped up by the Chiefs

Investec Super Rugby Champions, the Chiefs have confirmed they have signed Auckland first five-eighths Gareth Anscombe for next season.

Anscombe has been one of the form first-five’s for the ITM Cup and Chiefs coach Dave Rennie is looking forward to working with him.

“We initially were not looking for a first-five, but when a player of Gareth’s quality becomes available, we were quick to snap him up,” said Rennie.

Anscombe made his Super Rugby debut for the Blues in 2011. He has represented Auckland in the ITM Cup since his first year out of school in 2010. Gareth was the top point scorer at the IRB Junior World Champions in 2011 and has played through the New Zealand age group system.
