All Blacks medical staff said x–rays last night revealed that Carter had cracked a bone in his right hand during the Crusaders match on the weekend. A decision on his availability will be made later in the week.

Meanwhile, All Blacks props Tony Woodcock, Owen Franks and Ben Afeaki will continue to be monitored with a decision on their availability also to be made later this week. As a result, the All Blacks coaches have called Crusaders prop Joe Moody into the All Blacks squad to help with training as prop cover.

All Blacks halfback Piri Weepu is suffering no side effects of his concussion from the weekend but will be limited to non–contact training until he is reviewed later in the week.
