After overpowering NZ Marist in their first outing of the year on the weekend, the Heartland XV found things tougher in the searing heat of Fiji. The Heartland XV took control of the match early by scoring a number of well worked team tries to take a handy lead. The game opened up in the second half as Nadi began to stretch the Heartland XV defence to cross for three tries to the delight of the passionate home crowd. In the end the Heartland XV defence stood firm to hold onto the hard fought 26-19 win.

The tour finishes on Friday with a clash against the highly fancied Nadroga. Although there were plenty of positives for the side to take from the clash against Nadi, they will need to step it up a notch to finish unbeaten on their Fijian tour.
