Murphy Taramai

A rising Sevens star, Taramai is powerful forward with speed and skill0set to match. A former schoolboy rugby league star for Upper Hutt College (2010), he trialed for the Penrith Panthers before returning to New Zealand in 2012 to play in the Colts grade for Upper Hutt.

He debuted on the local Sevens stage with a Player of the Tournament performance at the American Ambassador Sevens series in October 2012. He became a regular in the Wellington Sevens team in 2013 and was part of the team that claimed the National Sevens title in Rotorua in January 2014. In November 2014 he was named in the All Black Sevens squad for the first time.
