Rugby Australia announced the fixtures yesterday in a bumper start to their home 2020 season which also includes two Tests for the Wallabies against Ireland in July.
While the Bledisloe Cup has not been contested in Melbourne since 2010, the occasion will be even more historic for the Black Ferns and Wallaroos who have never met in the Victorian capital.
The announcement follows on from the two double-headers played in Auckland and Perth in 2019.
The All Blacks and Wallabies have met on only four previous occasions in Melbourne, dating back to 1997 when New Zealand prevailed 33-18 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The two teams returned to the MCG in 1998 and 2007, where the Wallabies were victorious on both occasions in two of the more memorable Australian victories in Series history.
Marvel Stadium hosted the two nations for the first time 2010 and is now set to stage the Bledisloe Cup in the first encounter for both nations under the direction of new Head Coaches following the departures of Michael Cheika and Steve Hansen.
The All Blacks and Black Ferns home Tests for 2020 are yet to be announced.
