All Blacks break 100 tries in a single season

The All Blacks have become the first team in Test rugby history to score 100 tries in a single season.

The previous single season record of 92 tries had been held by Argentina since 2003. The All Blacks broke the world record during the 47-9 victory over Italy in Rome and went into the final Test of the year against France on 98 tries.

Rieko Ioane scored a spectacular try in the 50th minute to bring up the All Blacks 100th try in 2021 before Ardie Savea scored the side’s 101st and final try of the year in the 58th minute. Will Jordan finished as the All Blacks leading try-scorer in 2021 with 15 tries from 11 Tests.
