Other changes to the side who lost to France (25-16) last Sunday (7 July NZT), include moving Kelly Brazier to fullback from second five, with Chelsea Alley starting in the number 12 jersey. Marcelle Parkes, Theresa Fitzpatrick and Joanah Ngan-Woo were named in the reserves.

Moore said the changes were relatively minor and that Brazier provided lots of experience in what would be her 40th Test in the black jersey.

"We want to get Kelly injected into the game, she brings good direction on the field and an excellent kicking boot."

Moore said he was delighted with Parkes' performance against France in what was her first match starting in the number 7 spot.

"For a young player who had only come off the bench a couple of times, she played particularly well. Les will bring back experience, and leadership on the field, and she'll be backed up by Marcelle in the reserves."

The Black Ferns had a bye on Wednesday when USA won their match against Canada (20-18), and England pipped France (20-18) at the post in the dying minutes of their match.

Moore said the extra recovery and preparation time enabled his side to reflect, analyse and plan for their last match of the series against England - a team they last faced in the 2017 Women's Rugby World Cup Final.

"We're looking forward to getting out there this weekend. Overall it was tough out there the other day against France, but we can't make any excuses. We didn't play well enough to win. We welcome the seven-day turnaround between this game after playing three games in eight days."
