Crusaders: Predicted line-up for round one

It’s certainly going to be a different looking Crusaders forward pack in 2020. No Kieran Read, Owen Franks, Sam Whitelock, Matt Todd and Jordan Taufua. However, they’ve retained a solid front row in Joe Moody, Codie Taylor and Michael Alaalatoa. Skipper Scott Barrett will be joined in the second row by veteran Luke Romano, and Quentin Strange and Mitchell Dunshae. Crusaders coach Scott Robertson has named four rookie loose forwards, so expect the likes of Whetukamokamo Douglas and Tom Sanders to step up as leaders in the pack.

The Crusaders backline remains relatively the same, apart from the loss of Ryan Crotty. They’ve still got Richie Mo’unga steering the ship alongside All Blacks wingers Sevu Reece and George Bridge and midfielder Jack Goodhue. Goodhue and Braydon Ennor will combine nicely in the midfield, while Will Jordan and David Havili are likely to be as dangerous as ever in the outside backs.
